January 26, 2013 through June 2, 2013 – The de Young Museum presents a selection of 35, seventeenth century Dutch Golden Age paintings on loan from the Royal Picture Gallery Mauritshuis in The Hague, the first time in 30 years masterpieces from its prestigious collection including Vermeer’s famed “Girl with a Pearl Earring” (1665) have been exhibited anywhere else. Representing a range of subject matter and technique, among the portraits, landscapes and still lifes on view are celebrated works like Pieter Claesz’s “Vanitas Still Life” (1630), Carel Fabritius’s “The Goldfinch” (1654),  Frans Hals’s pendant portraits of “Jacob Olycan” (1625) and “Aletta Hanemans” (1625), Jacob van Ruisdael’s “View of Haarlem with Bleaching Grounds” (1675), “Vase of Flowers” (1700) by Rachel Ruysch, one of the few female painters of era plus four exceptional works by Rembrandt, “Simeon’s Song of Praise” (1631), “Tronie of a Man with a Feathered Beret” (1635), “Susanna” (1636) and the magnificent “Portrait of an Elderly Man” (1667).

Friday (March 30 through November 23 only) from 9:30 a.m. to 8:45 p. m.
Closed on Monday.

Admission:

$25 for an adult ticket.
$22 for seniors 65 and over.
$21 for college students with valid ID.
$15 for a youth ticket for those 6 to 17 years of age.
Prices include access to the temporary exhibition and the permanent collection.
