The Hays Collection at the Musée d’Orsay – Paris

April 16, 2013 through August 18, 2013 – View the private collection of outstanding 19th and early 20th century works of French art acquired over the last thirty years by a pair of American art lovers, many on view publicly in France for the first time since their expatriation. The Hays Collection at the Musée d’Orsay includes a wide spectrum of creative works by Bonnard, Caillebotte, Derain, Fantin-LaTour, Matisse, Modigliani and Morisot plus most impressively two Symbolist masterpieces by Redon, “Vase de Fleurs et Profil {Vase of Flowers and Profile}” from about 1900 and “La Fleur Rouge {The Red Flower}” from about 1901 as well as the seventh of nine panels of Vuillard’s monumental “Jardins Publics (Public Gardens}” from 1894, reuniting it for the first time since its separation from the five already on display in the Musée d’Orsay.
